In this special kirtan evening, we will sing heart-songs of joy, love and connection. Kirtan brings a whole new dimension to our yogic practice beyond the yoga mat as it holds potential for awakening and transformation. Kirtan is a call and response singing of devotional songs that help to open the heart, uplift our minds and bring inner peace. The Kirtan leader will sing the mantra and participants sing it back.
Kirtan is universal and can be enjoyed by all people of all ages, transcending beyond cultural and religious boundaries. As form of bhakti yoga, it helps to remove darkness, bring light and higher level of consciousness. Often Kirtan is in ancient language of Sanskrit and its sound patterns & syllables contain universal sounds that resonate with our energy centers (chakras), removing negative energies, creating vibrations of gratitude and state of bliss. Teacher Tianna Sufian
After many years in the corporate world, Tianna found deep holistic healing, self-awareness and inner transformation with the practise of yoga and meditation. Inspired by Vedantic teachings and ancient scriptures such as Bhagavad Gita, her focus is igniting the inner knowing, light and wisdom within oneself and connecting with our authentic true self. Tianna is a certified sound healer using different instruments and range of sonic tools such as singing bowls and the power of our voice. A Bhakti Yogini at heart, she also loves leading kirtans opening the heart with others.
Currently based in Darjeeling, Himalayas and Kuala Lumpur, Tianna is a certified RYT500 Yoga Teacher affiliated with Yoga Alliance teaching and facilitating workshops on Pranayama-Breathwork, Vinyasa Flow, Traditional Hatha, Yin, Meditation, Movement, Sound & Voice Healing and Personal Transformational Coaching. With the aim of creating a more conscious, sustainable community Tianna is also co-founder of YogDaan Yoga, a holistic yoga school & wellness centre in Himalayas, India conducting various residential Yoga Teacher Training Courses, yoga & nature retreats and curated wellness programs.
